This is a project I did for the book Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. For this project, I had to promote the book in a flyer and entice others to read the
heart-racing book.
Reading this book made me think of how I affect others. Everything we do may indirectly or directly have an impact on other people. Be more aware of what you do and say. You never know what the result of your actions may be one day.
On the right is a picture of Raegan and I at the Randall Museum to drop off our science fair projects for the competition. We were chosen to represent our school for this year. We both got honorable mention awards for our project. The following year, my science fair project was picked for the competition. It is shown on the left. I tested the self-control of various age groups. This project was awarded with fourth place. |

Explaining A Process
How To Set Up a Temptation Test:
1. Set up a video camera in a secret place to record the test.
2. Have the pair of subjects come in.
3. Ask for their age.
4. Tell them to sit on the chairs.
5. Tell them they have to wait for twenty minutes in the chairs
6. Ask for their phones and set it in the table in front of them.
7. Set the temptations in the middle of the table.
8. Tell the subjects to not touch any of the items in the center.
9. Tell the subjects they can use and eat all the things in the center if they wait 20 minutes.
10. Set the timer for 20 minutes.
11. Leave the room.
12. After 10 minutes, check on the subjects in the room.
13. When you check on the subjects, remind them of how much longer they need to wait.
14. Take down data if anything has been touched or eaten.
15. If the subjects survive 20 minutes of waiting, let them indulge.
16. Repeat from procedure one with the rest of the pairs.
